"Pretty Silly Slambook” - a profile series where we ask our favourite artists, scientists, musicians, and more. It's a bit of a cultural time capsule project.

Today, it's all about Revant Dasgupta –
Revant is an artist with roots in Kolkata and currently making waves in Mumbai. His body of work revolves around the exploration of symbols and social hierarchies through zines, paintings, digital illustrations, music and more. Revant's working on some fun colouring books and his first set of illustrations, dropping next year.

Let your imagination run wild: If you were the mastermind behind a new superhero, what would their name be, and what incredible power would they wield?
This took me the most time to come up with and I'm still a little blank. But would be cool to have somebody that touches you on the head like ghost rider, but instead of your sins it just fills your head with every shitty Instagram reel or Tiktok you've ever watched and it plays on loop all together at the same time till you lose all connect with reality and your brain turns into soup. Maybe the guy could be called Kumar Subham.

What's your favourite nostalgic TV show, cartoon, or video game from your childhood?
I really like GTA, mostly because I used to play it at cyber cafes while Illegally downloading my favourite albums off of YouTube. I quite love early Tom and Jerry as well I think it's one of the best shows ever made.

Mumbai - The Rocky Edges of Bandstand , Cafe Sea Side and a random Irani Cafe in Town.
